As others have said bottle sizes will affect the actual number of bottles youll be able to store The top shelf has the least amount of space on our unit so Im unable to store that shelf completely full The good thing is the open bin at the bottom allows stacking several bottles lying down I was able to fit 33 bottles total Im not concerned about storing everyday wines as those cost less and get drank more quickly However for those that can benefit from lying down for 35 years this unit fits the bill I keep the temperature control at 50 but actual wine temps can vary by 57 depending on which shelf theyre on Again Im not too worried about that fluctuation since those temps arent putting my wines in danger The important thing for me is theyre safer than sitting on my open wine rack especially during these hot summer months when indoor temps can rise above ideal long term storage temperatures For those reasons this units function capacity and price makes it a good choice
