I have a Whirlpool fridge with what must be a very common design flaw that apparently no one can help me with The 2 top glass shelves are too short and are constantly falling down anytime they shift They are adjustable and only long enough to hang on the tracks about a 18 on either end They need to be at least 12 longer in order to fit snugly and not fall so easily I spent over 30 minutes explaining the simple problem to 2 different people online and then also called their customer service line as well They had no solutions other than suggest I pay for a service call for someone to come and tell me what I already know

We bought this fridge 2 12 years ago Initially it froze everything so I followed instructions to lower the temperature It worked well for about 2 years then basically stopped refrigerating We don't generally buy extended warranties but our small town retailer suggested we purchase one this time fortunately Comerco sent an appliance repairman out twice and he replaced a couple of parts to no avail Luckily we have a 45 year old dinosaur fridge in our basement so have been able to function We have now received a credit for the original sale price with our retailer We were well served by the Extended Warranty company but hate the thought of an almost new fridge going to the landfill to join many other poorly engineered and constructed appliances
