clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I bought this microwave in 2011 and it still works, for that, I am grateful. But the lightbulb went out shortly after I bought it. The users manual shows the "location" of the lightbulb. No mention of a replacement bulb part number or how one might go about installing it. Online help says if no light, replace the lightbulb. There is no access to it other than removing the housing with a special screwdriver that most people do not have in their home. My next microwave will be one that doesn't require an appliance dealer to replace the bulb. Yes, I recommend this microwave to a friend who doesn't mind cooking in the dark.

bought this in 2014 & this was the perfect compact MW for my small office & just fit our plates. 1 week after recommending this to a friend who bought one, it started sparking and vibrating. I would still recommend with caution.

Due to the fact a household member can't access a microwave over the stove, and that I wanted to hide it on a small counter, the fit is perfect. The small size is the only one I found on the market, and a welcome change from the others. Love it. Love the fact I can see what's going on in there too.
